About Me

My pronouns are she/her/hers and I grew up in Oregon where I was raised with a strong connection to my Cuban culture. I grew up with a love of helping others and curiosity regarding the world around me.  These interests lead me to San Diego where I pursued a career in Psychology. After obtaining my Bachelors I worked as ABA therapist until attending graduate school. I got my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Latino/as. Since beginning my graduation program I connected to Narrative therapy. I have found fulfillment in supporting some discover the cultural discourses that might impact them in their environment, understand their challenges a little better, and identify what might help them continue in a more preferred way. I have been working in the field and getting experience for over 5 years. I have worked at residential facilities that treat eating disorders, provided support in classroom, worked with families, adolescents, and worked at Assertive Community Treatment where I helped individuals with a history of homelessness who struggled from multiple challenges. My experience in multiple settings has allowed me to benefit from trainings in Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy learning new skills and connecting to knowledge which could benefit the work I do with others. I got licensed in California with my LPCC at the end of 2021 and my LMFT at the start of 2022. I look forward to helping and witnessing the stories people may need, or find helpful, to tell.
